Ville mythique \u00bb\u00a0: une collection diversifi\u00e9e d&rsquo;archives et d&rsquo;\u0153uvres d&rsquo;art<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"text-transform: initial;\">L\u2019exposition \u00ab Tanger Mythique \u00bb est une invitation \u00e0 un voyage dans le temps et l\u2019espace. Dans le livret de pr\u00e9sentation de l\u2019exposition, le Centre de la culture Jud\u00e9o-marocaine met en exergue la qualit\u00e9 principale de Tanger qui est d&rsquo;\u00eatre une passerelle entre l\u2019Afrique et l\u2019Europe, un phare occidental de la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e, et qu\u2019elle a toujours occup\u00e9 une place \u00e0 part dans l\u2019histoire du Maroc. Elle y est aussi qualifi\u00e9e d&rsquo;enclave tactique en Afrique du Nord propice au d\u00e9veloppement du commerce et de la diplomatie, un carrefour de civilisations et un lieu de rencontre des cultures arabes, juives et chr\u00e9tiennes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cette belle ville a inspir\u00e9 une pl\u00e9iade d\u2019artistes-peintres. Le livret de l\u2019exposition citeles Fran\u00e7ais Eug\u00e8ne Delacroix (1798-1863) et Alfred Dehodencq (1822-1882), les Belges Victor Eeckhout (1821-1879) et Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Portaels (1818-1895), ainsi que le Su\u00e9dois IwarDonn\u00e9r (1884-1864), parmi d\u2019autres g\u00e9nies, qui ont immortalis\u00e9 \u00ab Tanger intime \u00bb (sc\u00e8nes d\u2019int\u00e9rieur) et publique (vues ext\u00e9rieures), t\u00e9moignages sensibles de l\u2019histoire de la cit\u00e9 et de ses habitants au fil du temps, p\u00e9rennisant ainsi sa dimension mythique.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leurs confr\u00e8res les photographesont reproduit, rappelle le m\u00eame document, les costumes et les parures des tang\u00e9rois, les architectures mauresques, les int\u00e9rieurs raffin\u00e9s et autres paysages ruraux ou urbains pittoresques. Dans ce cadre s\u2019inscrit l\u2019\u0153uvre de l\u2019\u00c9cossais George Washington Wilson (1823-1893), qui a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la popularisation outre-M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e des costumes juifs et musulmans tang\u00e9rois et t\u00e9touanais ; et l\u2019\u0153uvre d\u2019Antonio Cavilla (1867-1908), auteur de vues du march\u00e9, de la kasbah ou de la mosqu\u00e9e de Tanger, des portraits d\u2019habitants du Rif, des sc\u00e8nes de genre (musiciens, maternit\u00e9, couples) ou de rassemblements populaires, qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 reprises par de nombreux journaux de presse anglaise et espagnole des ann\u00e9es 1880-90, publi\u00e9es en tant qu\u2019\u0153uvres artistiques \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re pour certaines.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le m\u00eame document r\u00e9v\u00e8le dans la partie r\u00e9serv\u00e9e aux bijoux et costumes que dans l\u2019art du v\u00eatement, l\u2019influence espagnole pr\u00e9domine, surtout \u00e0 partir du XVe si\u00e8cle, h\u00e9ritage des Juifs de la p\u00e9ninsule ib\u00e9rique et du Portugal exil\u00e9s sur le sol marocain, ainsi que des nombreux Musulmans d\u2019Andalousie expuls\u00e9s. La grande robe c\u00e9r\u00e9monielle s\u00e9pharade, dite keswa el-kbira ou berb\u00e9risca, est embl\u00e9matique de ces migrations en Afrique du Nord. De plus, la profession de bijoutier est essentiellement exerc\u00e9e par les Juifs, autoris\u00e9s \u00e0 manipuler l\u2019or et \u00e0 en faire commerce.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La gravure est certainement l\u2019un des modes d\u2019expression privil\u00e9gi\u00e9s des artistes pour repr\u00e9senter la ville de Tanger depuis le XVIIe si\u00e8cle.
