Les anciens habitants de la M\u00e9dina ont souvent fait de l\u2019existence d\u2019orifices\u00a0 donnant sur des cavit\u00e9s profond\u00e9ment enfouies sous leurs maisons.<\/p>\n<p>En attendant que l\u2019inspection r\u00e9gionale des monuments historiques et des sites de la r\u00e9gion de Tanger se prononce sur le sujet, les sp\u00e9culations vont bon train quant \u00e0 la valeur historique et arch\u00e9ologique de ces tunnels souterrains.<\/p>\n<p>Pour l\u2019instant, l\u2019on apprend que ces catacombes ont servi d\u2019\u00e9chappatoires lors de l\u2019occupation de Tanger par les Portugais, puis par les Britanniques.
